Case Study: Pedal For Scotland 2008 Campaign
Client: Cycling Scotland (Scottish Government)

Brief

After delivering successfully designs for Cycling Scotland’s Pedal for Scotland 2007 campaign, we were asked to deliver a National Campaign to promote Scotland’s biggest bike ride in 2008. The main objectives were to increase participants, highlight health benefits and also highlight the fun, social and team elements.

Solution

We created three pieces of artwork targeting the demographic profiles given within Cycling Scotland objectives. These were delivered across all media formats including multiple press adverts, posters, leaflets, subway station posters (4 sheet & 6 sheet), giant floor graphics and 48 sheet roadside billboards. Our visual media team breathed life into the illustrations transforming them into an eye catching animation to play on giant transvision video screens within Glasgow Central and Edinburgh Waverly train stations in Scotland.

Result

Cycling Scotland are delighted with the reaction to their new campaign. Andrew Pankhurst, Cycling Scotland’s PR & Marketing Officer said “Cycling Scotland has been working with Midgibyte Creations for our design requirements for about 24 months, all of which has been inventive, eye catching and most importantly has shown an understanding of what the company is about. The new campaign Midgibyte has designed for our Glasgow to Edinburgh bike ride Pedal for Scotland has been the best so far, incorporating iconic imagery of the two cities across a range of poster designs which illustrate the various reasons to participate. The entire campaign has been created using Midgibyte's distinctive graphic style rather than relying on photos, giving the campaign a unique look and feel. We're delighted with it.”

The Pedal for Scotland event runs on the 14th of September 2008.
